Seemingly four, but could have been infinite, that is the place we stand at first.

There are many planters out on the balcony. How often am I to water the plants? Usually, we check the dryness of the soil with our eyes or with our touches. And then, we water them. Tonight, I am thinking of going to bed after watering them.

Wake up in the morning. Everything in our living world seems to be disconnected. But, in fact, countless things are connected seamlessly. Even in the dream we just had, or even in the reality we wake up to, they are connected in the same way. Naturally, we cannot grasp all the events taking place in the world. In the world we wake up to, ordinary events ordinarily happens, as we ordinarily deal with them. And each of us can only perceive them with his/her consciousness. However, there are many layers in consciousness as well as in unconsciousness. Moreover, they are intricately intertwined chronologically, and they parallel shift in time. We are created conveniently. We are made to live conveniently. It is never too hard for us to ignore our inconvenience unconsciously. Life takes turn when we casually make choices. I put in “layers” in between objects and I. These layers give a structure thickness to exist as a moving body in timeline. In the world infinitely expanding, with no concrete structure, trying to equip oneself with newness that would not be absorbed into the old way. The newness would clear the view at a certain point, and it would narrow down the choices automatically. Incorporating the decision making into logic, an interpretation can have rational possibilities. We hurry forward, closing our eyes because there are infinite choices at any given moment. In this world, there exist different structures(layers.) I am feeling the key to tackle a new project within the rich relationship between the structure and people.

Yesterday, I purchase a highly mobile computer. This flexibility connects me and “the outside” under any circumstances. My eyes meet the old machine I thought precious the day before, and it seems suddenly stale. It seems sun burnt. Scratches and dust on them stand out. Things that were visually existent get smaller and smaller, and gradually becomes invisible. As the time layers itself, inefficient objects get filtered and the excess is screened out. We must think of the fundamental reality instead of removing literalness or daily narrative behaviors. If not, no creation can continue, and a work would be unfinished. What I mean by “the fundamental truth” is being true to oneself facing events. It is close to improvisation. That is to say, being in time and owning an experience, we must step away from the learnt technical methodology. We must do so because we have to lead more meaningful lives. And we must continue to grow. Reality is complex. So, we must accept all of the countless layers and try to perceive with a pair of fresh eyes.

Pull out an idea, and from this, I want to create the methodology to write. For this to happen, I need to contemplate on ideas. Pick a structure or a frame, and interpret it broadly. When contemplating on ideas, there lies infinite possibilities. Hypothesize that time and space can have the same possibilities. For ideas not to be cut out of the world, I suggest a “rule” that people can share. I trace the structure itself and extract the narrative elements. Thus the thoughts surrounding methodology are discussed every time a new question arises. When others do not question, a “rule” can be ignored. Whether to share or not, we are free to decide on this question. We are the one to decide on a standard and accept it. For instance, to repeat the pondering or to search oneself is also the possible sharing method in a certain standard. Sharing within oneself. We must think of what are all the possibilities for in the rule. In the current state which has lost the idea of the society as a whole or a common recognition of value, we must continue to discuss the meaning of the situation music can create. Are we able to connect music to other worlds, without locking it up within the field of music? Can music be open to the “outside?” These are the questions I focus while creating my work.

Having a spontaneous smile while watering plants, there is this feeling that cannot be expressed in words. Like walking towards light in darkness. These moments of realness are very hard to measure in this world. They exist as something ambiguous in us. Facing them and keeping the state of unknown. That is to remember the feeling of pure joy and excitement experiencing works in this world in which everything has already created. We must not forget these feelings, and it is time to remember them.
